The former boxer, and civil rights acitivist Rubin "Hurricane" Carter
has passed away on Sunday April 20th, 2014. He was known for the court
case that inprisoned him for 19 years. The case involved the murder of
two men and the case was well publicied and was the topic of at least
one song as well as a movie.
The human civil rights activist was the Executive Director of a Canadian
non-profit organization based in Toronto, Ontario known as the
Accociation in Defence of the Wrongly Convinced or AIDWYC. The former
boxer was known as a civil rights activism had reportedly battled cancer
towards the end of his life.
