North Korea successfully launches intercontinental rocket. from on BOOYA Media Editorials's blog

After several prior attempts, North Korea has successfully launched an intercontinental rocket on the morning of July 4th, 2017 that could potentially reach mainland Japan or potentially the USA. This action by the North Korean government has escalated tensions between North Korea and nations concerned about potential nuclear attacks from the rogue nation in the region, in particular Russia, China, Japan and South Korea. It was reported from several sources that the missile had reached over 2,500km(1,550 miles) in altitude, traveled a distance approximately 930km(578 miles) and took about 37 to 40 minutes to reach it's destination. US intelligence suggests that the deployment was likely a two staged rocket launch.

Donald Trump previously has had discussions with China's president Xi Jinping to garner support from China in order to combat the North Korean threat, China has an interest due to it's proximity and history with North and South Korea. In a tweet(Twitter) on April 11, 2017 Donald Trump announced that "I[Donald Trump] explained to the President of China that a trade deal with the U.S. will be far better for them if they solve the North Korean problem!" but also express that if China would not help that the US would "solve the problem without them!"

Trump has gone as far as making verbal and online warnings to North Korea and their leader Kim Jung Un to stop their pursuit of long range ballistic missiles that could potentially carry an nuclear payload against it's enemies and destabilize the region. Trump has responded to the missile test by tweeting...

"North Korea has just launched another missile. Does this guy have anything better to do with his life? Hard to believe that South Korea….."
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 4th, 2017

and then later tweeted...

"….and Japan will put up with this much longer. Perhaps China will put a heavy move on North Korea and end this nonsense once and for all!"

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 4th, 2017

Despite Trump's criticism of Obama for not being strong enough and his claims that North Korea would not be able to be able to develop a nuclear weapon capable of reaching the US are being turned on it's head. It not without some concern that recent incidents under the Trump administration have turned sour and have been inching towards conflict with the North Korean dictator. With the recent US militarization of the region to the collision that a US military ship had with a commercial ship and the death of the recently released prisoner Otto Warmbier whom had been in a coma and died shortly after his release has made the situation with North Korea and the US even more precarious than it has ever been before. What may be more potentially dangerous is that the situation is in the hand of a US president that has little political experience and no military experience and is more unconventional and more temperamental than any president has been before.
